Another wind farm near Leamington on the horizon

A THIRD wind farm project near Leamington has begun its initial stages - and people can find out more about it at a public event on Wednesday.

TCI Renewables, which wants to build six turbines on farmland just south of Lower Shuckburgh near Napton, is holding an exhibition about its plans at Priors Marston village hall from 3pm to 7.30pm.

If built, the firm says the farm, called Beacon Hill Wind Farm, will generate renewable electricity for several thousand homes in the area and it has committed to providing a community fund - which could amount to £37,500 per year - to be spent as residents in the area wish.

The company has submitted to Stratford District Council an application to build a 70m-tall metereological mast to measure wind speeds, which it hopes to put up as soon as possible.
