Autumn amble at Warwick Castle for charity

A TWO mile charity fun run is being held in the grounds of Warwick Castle this weekend to coincide with National Grandparents Day.

Age UK Warwickshire is urging the community to don their trainers on Sunday at 10am, with entry in the castle free for participants.

Age UK Warwickshire’s chief executive Elizabeth Phillips said: “This is a great event that not only helps raise funds for a local charity but participants can take advantage of a super offer to visit one of the UK’s most prestigious tourist attractions for no extra cost.

“What’s more, the gentle circuit of just under two miles long, is suitable for many age groups so we hope that lots of family generations will partake in the event and enjoy a truly great family occasion and make some special memories to treasure.”

Registration is from 9am and all money raised will go towards the organisation Wheel Appeal, to fund a replacement minibus. Entry for the run is £6, with under 12’s going free. The route will start in the castle courtyard, and will go past the trebuchet, birds of prey area, through the courtyard garden and end in the Pageant Field.
