Bally stands as Labour candidate

The Kenilworth and Southam Labour Party have chosen Cllr Bally Singh as their candidate for next year’s General
Election.

He said: “I look forward to working in the Kenilworth and Southam constituency. I have been a very active campaigner with notable successes. I have fought to keep local services, bus routes and police stations facing closure open. I have also helped local colleagues in their campaigns, and I took part in Barack Obama’s historic 2008 Presidential election, canvassing support on the streets of Detroit.”

Cllr Singh, who represents the Whoberley ward on Coventry City Council, has a young family and has been a Labour Party member for over 15 years. His parents emigrated from South Asia to the Midlands in the 1960s.

Cllr Singh has already ‘hit the ground running’ in the constituency, successfully campaigning against proposals for Underground Coal Gasification in the heart of Warwickshire’s greenbelt. He’s also been actively involved in casework helping local residents in Kenilworth, Southam and Wellesbourne.
