Bowls ladies help lifeboat rescuers

THE Leamington branch of a charity that saves lives at sea has benefited from a donation from the Warwickshire Women’s Bowls Association.

Stuart Powney, chairman of the town’s branch of the Royal National Lifeboat Institute (RNLI), and treasurer John Redshaw were recently presented with a cheque for £512 by Barbara Harsant, president of the bowls association, who chose it as one of her charities to support during 2012.

Mrs Harsant also presented a donation of the same amount to the Wythall Animal Sanctuary.
