Coffee group reach £11k of fundraising

COFFEE drinkers in Radford Semele who have raised more than £11,000 for good causes added another £185 to their fundraising as they celebrated their group’s fifth anniversary.

Radford Rendezvous was set up by Peter and Margherita Dove and Janet Summers in 2006 after the village’s dancing group had its last dance and meals in the community hall ended.

Although primarily a social gathering, the weekly coffee mornings have supported many causes including Myton Hospice, Radford Semele Primary School, Cord, Leamington Christian Mission and the Warwickshire and Northamptionshire Air Ambulance - towards which last week’s anniversary celebration raised £185.

Mr Dove said: “We would like to think that this is one of the things in Radford that helps bring people together. Someone told us this was the best thing that has happened in the village for a long time.”

Anyone can attend the coffee mornings at Radford community hall every Wednesday at 10.30am.
