A Leamington burglar tried to trick police officers after a high speed chase - by nipping into a shop and changing his clothes.
But the officers were not fooled and arrested him as left the shop.
The drama started when officers received a report of a burglary in Leamington yesterday afternoon (Monday).
Officers in the Operational Patrol Unit (OPU) for Warwickshire Police found the vehicle used in the burglary near Coventry.
A spokesperson for the OPU said: "It was pursued where it drove the wrong way down a dual carriageway and discarded items, which we've recovered, that were used during the burglary.
"The vehicle was followed by the helicopter until it went to the Ricoh Arena where the driver ran off into the shop and changed his clothing.
"He tried to walk back out the shop later on but was challenged by one of our eagle-eyed officers and arrested."
The Audi S3 he used for the burglary had been stolen in another burglary in Northamptonshire area earlier this month.
He has been charged by CID with the burglary in Leamington, dangerous driving and receiving stolen goods.
