Meat cleaver, WWII bayonet and even a cheese knife: Just some of the dozens of knives handed into Leamington Police this week
In total, 52 knives were handed in at Leamington Police Station
Officers in Leamington conducted a knife amnesty this week - and they collected 52 in total.
Among the blades was a meat cleaver, a bayonet and even a cheese knife.
The operation was part of a national campaign, titled Operation Sceptre
A spokesperson for Warwickshire Police said: "The Leamington Safer Neighbourhood Team officers conducted local knife sweeps across parks, high visibility patrols and engaged with local schools as part of early intervention to raise awareness of the dangers of knife crime.
"Knife surrender bins were located across police stations in Warwickshire throughout the week. At Leamington Spa a total of 52 knives were surrendered which will now be sent for destruction."
