Police stop shoplifting suspects at the Junction One Retail Park in Rugby

Police stopped a car at the Junction One Retail Park today, February 20, as the occupants were suspected of shoplifting.

Officers from OPU (Operational Patrol Unit) Warwickshire intercepted the Red Peugeot 307 at the retail park.

The three people in the Peugeot were suspected to have been involved with a shoplifting incident which happened yesterday at the Boots on the Arena Shopping Park in Coventry.

Officers obtained full details from all three people and arrested one of them, a woman who was wanted on warrant for breach of a court order.

Details of the other two occupants were passed to West Midlands Police.

A spokesperson for OPU Warwickshire said: "We managed to stop the vehicle before any offences could take place in Warwickshire."
