Two arrested after police seize stolen caravans in Lutterworth

The suspects were detained after police swooped on the Mere Lane area of Lutterworth on Thursday morning.

“As part of proactive enquiries carried out yesterday (28 May) by the local police team, two men were arrested on suspicion of theft from motor vehicle,” said Leicestershire Police.

“While further enquiries were made at the location of their arrest in the Mere Lane area of Lutterworth, two caravans were discovered which were found to be stolen.”

The two men, aged 18 and 26, who were arrested have since been released on police bail.

A third man was also arrested for breaching court conditions and has since been charged.

Terrence Mongan, 45, of Mere Lane, Lutterworth, was accused of “failing to abide with magistrates court-imposed conditions of home detention curfew”.

Mongan was remanded to appear at Leicester magistrates’ court on Friday May 29.
