A business in the Warwick district is increasing the reward it is offering for information leading to the conviction of those responsible and the safe return of items that were stolen.

Around £8,000 worth of equipment was stolen from one of John Barber Pruning’s compounds in the Warwick/Leamington area in the early hours of Tuesday morning (November 3).

The business put out their first appeal in November offering a reward of £3,000 and they have now increased this.

John Barber said: "We are increasing the reward to £5,000, not because we necessarily want the equipment back, it's probably long gone and it's insured, but we don’t want this to happen to anyone else.

"We're fortunate enough that we are able to keep going with other equipment stored elsewhere, but if this happened to someone who is not in that position, it could be devastating for them.

“I feel a bit sorry for the people that feel the need to do this.

"The stump grinders, hedge cutters, chainsaws, strimmers and generators are very specialised bits of kit, we would ask people to look out for Dosko stump grinder machines, also two large aluminium ramps were taken, again very distinctive, someone must have seen these suddenly appear somewhere.

"If anyone has seen any of the equipment, please take a photo and send it to our office, alternately, if you have any information, even anonymously, please call us.

"We have got back up machines and none of our gutter cleaning or jet cleaning equipment was taken, but the next person might not be insured like us, it would be the end of Christmas for them and their family.

"If you have any information please call the office on 01926 426 222 or Warwickshire Police on 101."
