Decent proposal at photo session

But he was delighted that his Lillington-based studio became the setting for a romantic proposal of marriage this month.

During a couple’s makeover session Matt Beards went down on one knee to propose to his girlfriend Kirsty Leaeveu.

Mr Beards had told Mr Maxwell beforehand that something special was on the cards but neither the photographer nor Miss Leaeveu were expecting what came next.

Miss Leaeveu was over the moon and loved the ring and Mr Maxwell was able to capture the romantic moment.

The session had already taken a different turn for the unexpected.

When the couple arrived Mr Maxwell was told that Miss Leaeveu was 24 weeks’ pregnant.

The photographer said: “This put a totally different slant on the session.

“What started originally as a more glamorous couple’s makeover session was quickly turned into a ‘bump type’ shoot.”

The loving couple are now planning their wedding day and their baby is expected to be born in July

Mr Maxwell will be running special engagement portrait sessions during the spring after his Easter family portrait promotion finishes.
