Eagles and axe races at Ragley Hall

FALCONRY experts from across the country will fill the Warwickshire skies with professional flying displays this spring.

As well as eagle shows by the British Falconers’ Club, the 2011 British Falconry and Raptor Fair, which will take place at Ragley Hall, will include exhibitions by the Hawk Board and Campaign for Falconry among other countryside organisations.

There will also be axe-racing competitions, simulating the falling of a tree with axes, gundog training displays and workshops.

The venue will at the same time host a country fair, at which there will be ferret displays, archery, sporting clay shoots, dog agility demonstrations, airgunning, children’s quad biking, a bouncy castle, amusements and trade stands selling a variety of products.

Tickets to the event, which takes place on Sunday May 1 and Monday May 2 from 10am to 6pm, cost £11 (£4 children) and are now available. Call 672708 or go online.
