Family pays tribute to George Ireland, 21, who died in a car crash near Southam last Thursday.

THE FAMILY of a 21-year-old who died as the result of a car crash have paid tribute to the young man.

George Ireland of Post Office Lane, Stockton, was driving his blue Renault Clio from Rugby towards Southam when it left the road and collided with some trees before going down an embankment into a quarry last Thursday.

Despite concerted attempts by emergency staff to save him, he was declared dead at the scene.

His family have said: “George was our eldest son doing exceptionally well in life and will be dearly missed by us, and so many people who knew him. “Thank you for all the support we have received in this very sad time.”

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the crash, which took place at about 1pm.
