Fatal road accident in Balsall Common

Police and ambulance crews were called to Kenilworth Road shortly after 7.50pm to a report of a car having collided with a man.

The man had suffered serious injuries, and despite the best efforts of medical staff could not be saved.

The driver of the car, a Vauxhall Insignia, was uninjured.

Police closed the road until around 0.15am for enquiries to be made and the vehicle to be recovered.

Officers from the Regional Collision Investigation Unit have launched an investigation into the collision and urge anyone with information help by calling 101.
