Ferncumbe pupils enjoy hearty breakfasts at Hatton Adventure World as part of national campaign
Ferncumbe School pupils were transported by tractor and trailer to the visitor attraction, where they learned about the benefits of eating a hearty breakfast while tucking into locally sourced bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, vegetables, wholemeal bread, milk and fruit.
They were also treated to a generous portion of black pudding, which has recently been identified as a ‘superfood’ thanks to its high levels of iron and protein and low amount of carbohydrates.

Richard Craddock, Adventure World manager at Hatton, said: “Children are often told that breakfast is the most important meal of the day but aren’t always told why that’s the case. We welcome pupils from Ferncumbe School every year and explain the benefits of eating a hearty breakfast, while providing hot food for everyone.”
Asking young people across the UK to ‘Shake Up Your Wake Up’ and eat a healthy breakfast every morning, the HGCA campaign, backed by the NFU and WFU, is now in its 17th year and is taking place until January 30.
