Flavours of the seaside come to pub for festival

KING prawns and a smoked fish platter will be among the fishy delights to be offered by a south Warwickshire pub as it brings the flavours of the seaside to the Midlands this weekend.

The Granville at Barford is hosting its annual Seafood Festival until tomorrow (Saturday), giving customers the chance to try starters such as shellfish bisque, king prawns, carpaccio of tuna ‘niçoise’, moules marinieres and a smoked fish platter, mains suchas as pan-fried skate wing, monkfish tail, Cornish hake, sea bass and a classic Provençal bouillabaisse.

A selection of wines are available and staff can offer personal wine recommendations to accompany the dishes.

Owner Val Kersey said: “Instead of travelling to the seaside, customers can look forward to savouring the delights of some fantastic dishes here in Barford. Seafood is one of the healthiest, most convenient and delicious foods available.”

The pub has recently been nominated as a finalist in the 2012 Warwickshire Life Food & Drink Awards.
