Flood warning issued for Rugby as River Avon levels rise

A flood alert has been issued for Rugby Borough due to the River Avon's high levels.

Low-lying land and roads between Stanford and Rugby, including Lilbourne and Clay Coton, could be affected and residents have been told to remain vigilant.

The flood warning, issued this morning (Monday, January 11) stated: “River levels remain high on the River Avon with flooding possible. At 07.45am, the level at the Lilbourne gauge was 0.6 metres but is forecast to continue rising during the morning. Over the past six hours there has been 5mm of rain. River levels will rise today so please remain vigilant.”
