Follow scarecrow trail at Barford village show

MONSTER marrows, runaway runner beans and prize flower arrangements and the competition for the best scarecrow will be judged at Barford’s village show this bank holiday weekend.

The show will take place on Sunday and Monday and will include a scarecrow trail, art by children, as well as the best home made produce in Barford. There will also be a beer festival at the Granville and Joseph Arch pubs and refreshments at the village hall.

Organiser Janet Bradley said: “This is a real family fun occasion with a village welcome. Come and see the biggest marrow, the longest runner bean and the best of village flowers, dozens of amazing scarecrows and the children’s artwork.

“There’s a Punch and Judy show, pony rides and maps are available from the church, scout hut and village hall to help you follow the scarecrow trail.”
