Gaydon hay bale fire still being tackled
A blaze in Banbury Road in Gaydon that started in the early hours of this morning involving a large pile of hay bales is still being tackled by crews from Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service.
A crew from Leamington arrived at the fire just before 2am and discovered approximately 4,500 square metres of burning hay bales, with the pile about ten metres in height.
The crew soon realised it needed backup, so three more crews were sent soon after.
A spokesman for Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service said the fire crews are likely to be there for most of the day as putting out hay bale fires is a drawn-out process.
