Nick Sale, chief operating officer for TaTa Technologies Europe, said: “We wanted to stay in the West Midlands and looked at a number of different sites but this one stood out because of the transport links, access to facilities for employees, the proximity to one our key clients jaguar Landrover and, most importantly, this is a nexus for automotive engineering and we wanted to give our employees somewhere really impressive to work and to attract new employees to Tata and really make a statement with our presence and this was the perfect location for that.

“We’ll bring up to 600 employees in the long run and these are high technology positions, we’re a professional services company so we think the people we will be a real asset due to the type of individuals we will have based in Leamington through their interaction and desire to be part of the local community. The Tata group in general is absolutely focused on serving the communities in which we operate so I would expect more and more activities to take place locally, I am going to Coventry University to hand out some bursaries now and I would expect that type of event to take place around here soon too.”

The headquarters will house Tata Technologies’ engineering support services, as well as a modern research and development centre that will further develop the company’s capabilities and growth opportunities especially in the automotive, aerospace and industrial machinery sectors.

Warwick and Leamington MP Chris White: “It’s great for Warwick and Leamington to see the beginning of this development and I look forward to seeing it progress.

“We will see a brand new headquarters with 600 employees, of which 200 are going to be new and I’m looking forward to working closely with the company, not least bease it is an example of the type of great brand and household name that is putting Warwick and Leamington on the map. Whether it is AGA Rangemaster Group, Dennis Eagle or TaTa we have some really big employers along with great universities and colleges in this area and people with skills to work with.

“It’s a signal that things are going very right locally.”
