Hopefuls eagerly awaiting business night of the year

The final countdown has begun to Leamington’s biggest business night of the year.

The inaugural Leamington Business Awards take place next Friday, October 17, with dozens of individuals and companies hoping to scoop top prize in one of the ten awards categories.

Dubbed ‘For the town, by the town, about the town’ the Leamington Business Awards is a not-for-profit event that aims to showcase and reward success in the town.

The awards have been organised by a team of locally-based volunteers and has the backing of Leamington and Warwick MP Chris White.

More than 80 entrants were registered via the awards website - www.leamingtonbusinessawards.co.uk - where people could vote for their favourites.

Judges met last month to consider the shortlisted entrants and choose their winners. And all will be revealed next Friday at the black tie awards night at the Pump Rooms in Leamington.

The finalists were judged by Chris White, Courier/Weekly News editor Chris Lillington, Sarah Tremellen MBE, chief executive and founder of Bravissimo, and Vicky Shepherd, founder of Cologne & Cotton.

Mr Lillington said: “The breadth and quality of the entrants was astonishing and highlighted what a fantastic, diverse and thriving business community Leamington has.

“Choosing the best in each category was extremely hard as quite honestly there were two or three in each who would have made worthy winners.”

There is still limited ticket availability for the awards night itself, which promises to be a must attend event. The evening will include drinks and canapes on arrival, a three-course meal, the awards presentation and entertainment.
