Kenilworth fireworks display fast approaching

Kenilworth Round Table’s bonfire spectacular at Kenilworth Castle is rapidly approaching, and tickets are still available for the annual event on Saturday November 7.

The group has also announced details of road closures taking place on the night to ease congestion.

From about 4.45pm on the night, there will be no vehicle access to Castle Road from the junction with Brookside Avenue and Forrest Road, Castle Hill from the junction with Malthouse Lane, and Clinton Lane from the junction with Beehive Hill or from Cobbs Road.

Diversions will be in place during the fireworks to direct traffic through the town.

Roads are expected to be reopened at around 8.30pm, once the majority of the crowd has left the event.

The display, one of the biggest in the Midlands, lasts around half an hour and will be set to music against the illuminated backdrop of the castle.

Chairman of the Round Table, Pat Cann, said: “It will be the best fireworks show in the Midlands.

“All money raised by the event is donated back into the local area through Round Table’s charitable giving, so by going to see the fireworks people are not only having a great evening’s entertainment but also can be proud they are helping good causes in Kenilworth too.”

Tickets cost £7.50 for adults and children aged 14 and over, and £3 for adults aged 65 and over or children aged 13 and under, and can be purchased from kenilworthroundtable.com/bonfire/shop.

They are also available from the following outlets across Kenilworth: Waitrose, Coventry Building Society, The Almanack, Castle Butchers, The Old Bakehouse, Holiday Inn, The Bakers’ Dozen, Kenilworth Castle Visitors’ Centre and Warwick University Students’ Union.

Tickets will be sent via first class post, but any tickets bought between November 1 and 5 will need to be collected at the Holiday Inn. No more tickets can be bought after 9pm on Thursday November 5.

Gates open at 5:30pm, with the last entry being at 6:45pm. It is recommended that visitors wrap up warm, wear appropriate footwear and follow the safety marshall’s instructions.
