Kitchen is up to date

HARBURY people have toasted to the generosity of an organisation whose £15,000 grant has enabled them to bring their village hall kitchen into the 21st century.

Thanks to the grant from Waste Recycling Environment Limited (WREN), the hall committee has been able to completely re-fit the kitchen - which had been unchanged since it was built in the 1960s - with stainless steel units and a new cooker hood, dishwasher and two fridges.

Members of the committee are hoping that this latest phase in the hall’s revamp will attract wedding parties, business meetings and other commercial ventures.

Chris Finch, vice chairman of the committee, said: “Although many improvements have already been made, the committees do not intend to rest on their laurels, as there are plans to create a stage, as well as new shower facilities for the local sports teams.”
