Leamington charity thanks mask team for £2k funds

People in Africa and Asia whose lives have been torn apart by conflict are to benefit from a partnership between a Leamington charity and a Southam firm.

Cord, which works to support those affected by violence and conflict to rebuild their lives, formed a link with Mask-arade - famed for its cut-out face masks of famous people - last year.

The Southam company, which leapt to widespread success after appearing on the BBC’s Dragon Den show in 2008, began to promote the charity’s work and committed to monthly donations - which have now added up to more than £2,000.

This week Cord fundraiser Caroline Dolan visited the team to thank them. She said: “We are delighted with the total raised by Mask-arade. The team here have been very supportive of our work and understand the difference their support has made.

“The funds raised could fund schooling for 35 children in a refugee camp in Chad for an entire year. This will help provide a more positive future for the students whose families’ lives have been shattered by violent conflict.”
