On Christmas Day In 2011 Peter Minshaw and his wife Wendy were coming to terms with the fact they did not have long left together.

Mrs Minshaw had a brain tumour and had been admitted to the Myton Hospice in Warwick where the couple would have to say their final goodbyes.

Mr Minshaw said: “Christmas day was so wonderful. The chefs prepared a special five- star meal for Wendy even though she was Celiac and treated her like royalty. We were able to sit with her to help her eat her Christmas meal and she also received a present which was a Myton teddy. It was home from home and still is for me.”

The Trees of Light campaign gives people the opportunity to pay tribute to or remember loved ones who have died or who are living or working abroad.

For every donation made to Myton Hospice a light will be dedicated to these people.

Their names will be displayed in Leamington on the notice board by the tree and at the Royal Priors and in Whitnash at the library or in the church’s porch.
