Man arrested on suspicion of Warwick cash machine attack

AN 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary after a cash machine was attacked in Warwick this morning.

At around 1.30am on Wednesday police were called after three males were seen to be acting suspiciously near to the cash machine at Select and Save in Reardon Court.

When police arrived they found that the cash machine had been damaged. The three males made off, one in the direction of the tow path at the back of the shops.

The force helicopter was deployed while officers on foot and an officer with a search dog searched on the ground.

The 18-year-old was arrested on The Greenway on suspicion of attempted burglary and was taken into custody at Leamington, where he is being questioned.
