Man had his hands tied before being assaulted during Dunchurch petrol station robbery

Between 9.45pm and 10.25pm on Friday, February 22, the men entered the Dunchurch Service Station and Coventry Road where they tied a staff member's hands together before assaulting him.

The men stole cigarettes, cash and the victim's mobile phone and car.

The car was later found abandoned locally.

A resident who wishes to remain anonymous told the Advertiser they were engaged in a video call with a friend, who was near the petrol station, when the two began to hear arguing coming from the site.

The friend saw the lights at the petrol station being switched off and the site’s alarm began to sound.

This prompted the reader to call the petrol station's manager.

The reader said emergency services could then be heard attending the scene.

In a phone call with the manager later, the reader learned that a member of staff at the petrol station had been physically attacked.

Enquiries are currently ongoing and officers are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area at that time.
