Motorist rescued in crash near Warwick

Fire crews freed a person who had become trapped in their car after crashing into a telegraph pole in a village near Warwick.

Two fire engines rushed to the scene outside Wolverton Primary School in Wolverton Fields, Norton Lindsey, at 2.45pm yesterday (Tuesday).

The car had come off the road and careered into a telegraph pole. Crews spent around 45 minutes working on extricating the trapped person using hydraulic cutting equipment. Police, ambulance and air ambulance staff also attended.
