Nearly £250,000 raised at Regency Run

The Wright Hassall Regency 10km Run has taken place each year since 2005 and draws large crowds as well as around 2,000 runners.

Entry fees and sponsorship money had already passed the £200,000 mark prior to this year’s event and another fantastic turnout saw another £29,000 raised this time around.

The money is distributed by race organisers Leamington Round Table to a range of local causes such as Round Oak School, Support Service and Sports College, which receives money to allow children with learning difficulties to compete in ‘Special Olympics’ events across the country.

Wright Hassall solicitors has supported the event every year since its inception and the firm is delighted that it continues to have such a positive impact in the local community.

Nick Abell, senior partner at Wright Hassall, said: “This is a fantastic event that we are delighted to support every year as it continues to get better and better.

“As a firm, we have alwaysbeen keen to remain an active member of the local community and this is a great way to do that.

“With so many of our staff living in and around the area too, we are also able to see first-hand the effect such donations have.”

Mark Chambers, from Leamington Round Table, said: “These monies are gifted back into the immediate local community by the Round Table to support charities and good causes.

“A great deal of time and hard work goes into organising the event so it is fantastic when such a tremendous amount of money can be donated to such worthy causes at the end of it.”
