Old Leamingtonians’ fireworks night to go ahead despite vandals targeting bonfire twice

Old Leamingtonians Rugby Club’s fireworks night will still go ahead tomorrow (Wednesday) despite the event’s bonfire being set alight by vandals on two nights in the past few days.

On Saturday night a group of four men drove into the club in Bericote Road, Blackdown, and set alight to the fire with Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service sending a crew to extinguish the blaze.

And the same group, whose images have been captured on CCTV, did the same thing on Monday.

The police have been informed of the incident and the fire has now been rebuilt for a second time.

The bonfire and fireworks event starts at 6pm with the bonfire being lit at 6.15pm and the display at 8pm.

There will be a bar, hot food and more.
