A vibrant addition to our community
Once again I’m afraid it’s the same old case of the ‘not on my doorstep’ brigade once more predictably the most vocal. These often maligned people are shoved from pillar to post when often they just want a base to settle.
Like us all, they have a fundamental right to live their lives how they choose and, if given a permanent place for their homes, will of course live peacefully within the local community and in fact provide a vibrant addition to the rich cultural mix of people that live in and around our town. I do feel a little sympathetic however to anyone having to abide by a compulsory purchase order and in such circumstances the owners of lands affected by this regulation must be fairly compensated.

Most football ground nowadays are constructed outside of the urban area and hopefully the days will eventually come to an end when residents of towns up and down the country have to put up with rowdiness from some football supporters.
With most people now owning cars and of course the availability of public transport, stadia built outside of residential areas are ideal for both supporters and residents of our towns and cities.
After all just like the Gypsies and travellers we all want to live our lives in peace.
