Is this the only case of its kind?
With reference to the headline ‘Council could be left with a £1million bill’ (Courier last week)
I am absolutely astonished at the incompetence that must have led to this situation. Who is responsible for allowing two leases to be issued for the same property? What was WDC’s legal department doing to allowing this mistake? Has there been a thorough investigation, if not why not? This is our money and payments of this level will no doubt result in cuts to services and/or projects.
One wonders if this is the only case of this kind.
