Laws should apply to everyone

I am very proud to live in a country where everybody is treated equally and the laws apply to all no matter what their background. But is everybody treated equally and do the laws apply to all?

At the time of writing the semi permanent gypsy camp just off Tachbrook Park Drive is bigger than I’ve seen before though looking over the fence it is quite apparent that some have left and also left their rubbish for us to pay for cleaning up yet again. Surely it is about time that the authorities did something about this constant problem and I don’t mean build a gypsy camp out of public funds.

Firstly the police should apply the laws of the land where you are not allowed (unless of course you are a gypsy) to just turn up and park your caravans and vehicles anywhere on the public highway and anyone who does so should be moved on - after relevant MOT, insurance, tax checks have been made and non-complying vehicles removed. It is also right than anybody found fly tipping or littering would (unless you are a gypsy) be prosecuted for doing so and again the law should be applied to these people who constantly arrive and leave with us having to foot the bill for tidying up after them including gas bottles left with no care for anyone else.

The answer is not to build gypsy camps out of public funds but just to apply the law equitably to all so that if the gypsies want a gypsy camp then they should simply follow the laws of the land the same as everybody else by obtaining the land and relevant planning permissions etc.

I understand that all the local agencies have equalities officers/groups so come on let’s start pressing to make things equal not just for minorities but also the easy target majority who end up footing the bill especially when public funds are as tight as they presently are. - Name and address supplied.
