No signs of life in our town centre
The castle attracts many thousands of people every year especially at weekends and bank holidays, after which, many of these have time to spare and money to spend,so they wander into our ‘town centre’. looking for some semblance of life.
Unfotunately, apart from pubs and restaurants, everywhere is closed.
Even our popular Victorian Evening has died the death.

Hide AdMy wife and I recently visited Straford on a Sunday. The whole town was buzzing,and we were approached by the town crier, resplendent in full uniform,who welcomed us,and gave us a leaflet showing the various venues that were open, together with a street map.
There was also a lively open market along the river bank.
They obviously have a dedicated council and a chamber of trade that are proud of their town.
There have been several initiatives involving the public in recent years, regarding a ‘town plan’,using consultants. Whatever happened to the conclusions? Is there ever going to be an improvement ??
I would also be interested to learn which part of Warwick our ‘town manager’ actually manages.
Should you print this letter, I would love to see a spirited reply from those concerned.
