Some serious concerns over Local Plan

As we understand it, the Local Plan that district councillors will be voting on (April 23), states that there is no need at this stage to have an agreed and funded Infrastructure Development Plan (IDP). This should be of real concern to residents and district councillors.

For example, it may not be possible to find an appropriate traffic scheme that can be a) funded or b) provide the capacity to support housing in these locations. The implication therefore would be that alternative locations may need to be found for housing.

Likewise, there are as yet no county-approved proposals to build schools in the areas of new housing. This should also be of concern to residents in terms of amenity and potential traffic problems.
