Town’s beacon should be saved

How outrageous to propose the demolition of Eden Court. A beacon for many miles around to locate Leamington for the weary traveller by road, rail, foot or canal.

How will people manage to find their way home when the maps have been thrown away, with total reliance by many on their seemingly infallible sat navs?

What will happen to them when their signal goes down?

Lost in an unfamiliar landscape all they have to do is look to the horizon and say yes, there it is, Eden Court and Leamington. We know where we are, home beckons.

I imagine that in any other town the Eden Court tower would be listed and then redeveloped as luxury apartments with commanding views over the countryside.
