Who does councillor actually represent?
It did not occur to me that Cllr John Barrott who is the Labour representative for Leamington Willes ward actually lives in Barford until I read his comments in the Courier last week concerning a planning dispute in his home village.
Out of curiosity I searched for reports of his views on the various issues currently exercising the people of south Leamington - HMOs, so-called ‘gentlemen’s’ clubs, the Portas project, increased housing development etc – and could find nothing.
I appreciate that these issues may impact more on Brunswick ward but surely councillors in adjacent wards should support each other as well as their constituents because these issues affect residents in the entire area? Instead the only reported comments from him which I could find related to development issues around Barford and Mallory.
