The defibrillator is located at the front of the home on Common Lane, and is accessible 24/7 to the local community.

Castle Brook is run by charity WCS Care, which has 11 homes for older people and people with dementia across Warwickshire, as well as two homes for younger adults.

Ed Russell, WCS Care’s Chief Executive, said: “Our homes are located at the heart of local communities and the people living with us still have strong connections to the area they’ve lived or worked in for many years.

“That’s why it’s so important for us to support initiatives such as this and we’re delighted to be able to provide a location for this life-saving equipment that the whole community can access in an emergency.”

Marie Allsopp, hotel services manager at Castle Brook, added: “HeartSafe provides an essential service for people living in Kenilworth and our staff are proud to be able to support this by hosting the AED at Castle Brook.”

Keith Grierson, Chairman of Kenilworth HeartSafe said: “We are very much indebted to WCS for giving us this prime location.

"There are now 22 AEDs in our community and in terms of equipment we are well on the way towards our goal of town-wide coverage.”
