How residents in the Leamington, Warwick and Kenilworth area have been showing their appreciation to our key workers

A 'thank you' gesture by Mark and Chelly Ellis, of Frances Road, Harbury.

Many thank you signs to key workers in the Leamington, Warwick and Kenilworth area have been popping up in windows.

And some people have gone to greater lengths to show their appreciate.

Gratitude in lights

Mark and Chelly Ellis, of Frances Road, Harbury, have put their gratitude in lights (see photo).

Mark said: "I'm one of the unlucky ones that are high risk and extremely vulnerable, so needed to say 'thank you'.

"It's 3.5 metres high and 5 metres long. My wife, Chelly, helped me make it while I was having a rare good day with my health.

"It's just to show our appreciation to everyone out there, from the truck drivers, post staff, shop workers,community workers and obviously everyone in the NHS, plus all the others I havent mentioned working hard to keep us safe and well. Thank you to you all."

Hatton Park's famous Santa Homer Simpson has joined in with the thanks to the NHS.

Artistic talents

A few people have been in touch, praising the efforts of the house in Redland Road, Leamington.

They usually do amazing Halloween and Christmas displays but this time they have used their artistic talents to show their support for NHS last Thursday night (April 2).

Sign of appreciation

In Oaks Road, Kenilworth, Shiralee Jackson and family have mainly been drilling thousands of holes ready to put a sign of appreciation (see photo).

They are also known for their Christmas light displays so have put their artistic flair to good use!

Artistic banner

A banner has gone up in Princes Drive, Leamington, created by Jessica and Emily who are fabric and art students at Manchester Metropolitan University and Stratford Girl's Grammar School.

Message in chalk

A very bright and cheerful message has been chalked at the entrance to Warwick District Council's Lifeline Control Centre (see picture), the team who are providing 24/7 support to some of the most vulnerable in our community who are shielding.

This area is also used by West Midlands Ambulance Service when they need to visit Acorn Court.
