More than 50 people have been trained by Kenilworth HeartSafe in the last few weeks at training sessions held at St John’s Church and St Nicholas Parochial Hall.

The next two training sessions, each lasting around 30 minutes, are demonstrations of compression-only CPR and the use of an AED.

These will be held in the garden of The Tiltyard Pub in Leyes Lane with permission of the tenant, known to his friends as “AJ”, on Saturday September 26 at noon and 1pm.

Kenilworth HeartSafe trustee and trainer, Seringa Dudley said: “People attending these informal sessions will go away equipped with the simple but essential skills that could help them save a life on a future occasion.

"Modern AED’s are simple to use and give clear spoken instructions to anyone deploying them but the benefit of a training session is to offer some familiarity of use in a non-stressful situation."

Tiltyard proprietor “AJ “said: “Since the AED was installed on our external wall I have wanted to support a training session for our 'regulars' but Covid lockdown got in the way.

"I am delighted that Kenilworth HeartSafe has been able to adapt their training sessions to allow for appropriate social distancing so that we can move on with this vital skills training."
