The society has been helping to find and honour examples of good conservation and improvement projects or fine examples of contemporary architecture, however small or large, for more than 35 years. The time has now come to invite nominations for the 2020 Leamington Society Awards.

These Awards, given every other year, set an example for good design.

For instance, elegant new railings or a well-restored house will encourage others around to do the same: improving the streets, keeping Leamington looking good – and making it a an even better place to live.

Good modern architecture is encouraged, particularly if the good compliments the old. The Award certificates are often framed and hung with pride by the winners and thereby encourage others to follow their example.

Anyone can nominate their favourite new or improved scheme from a wide range of possibilities: the 2018 winners included houses, apartments, offices, coffee shops, leisure facilities, a healing centre, a factory, garden railings and the station.

There is a special award, the “Bill Gibbons Trophy” for the best house (restoration or new-build) by an owner occupier.
