Rugby winner of dream wedding dress donates prize to her auntie

A bride-to-be will walk down the aisle in style thanks to her niece winning a dream wedding dress in a Rugby raffle.

Rugby woman Gemma Sced was over the moon to be drawn as the winner of the dream wedding raffle, held to raise money for Arden’s Angels.

But kind Gemma surprised her auntie, Lynn Addison, who is getting married this year, by presenting the dress to her.

The wedding raffle was drawn last Saturday at Sass in Rugby and was supported by some of the town’s finest independent retailers, including the wedding dress, which was donated by Sam Cook, who is one of Arden’s Angels. The Angels raise money for the Arden Cancer Centre at Walsgrave.

Arden’s Angels was launched by Rugby woman Tracie Mills and friend Nickie Brightwell.

Tracie has terminal cancer.

Nickie said: “The Angels would like to thank the people of Rugby for their continued support, without them we would not have raised in excess of £55,000.”
