Adam died in 2017 at just 11 months old.

The takeaway owner, who also has six other children, four boys and two girls, said that he and his family would never forget the care they received during the 'worst time time in their lives'.

Baabzi has been aiming to raise £10,000 for NHS Covid-19 Appeal and says that he is around halfway to his target.

It was hoped that the bike ride would help boost donations coming in.

The takeaway owner was joined by five other cyclists for the challenge but seven other family members and friends ran the distance of the Birmingham Canal to Warwick.

Baabzi said: "I was one of six bike riders, but there were seven of our family and friends who ran the distance along the Birmingham Canal ways in support too.

"So me, Hasaan, Fahim, Sultan, Yasser and Riyad were all bike riding, and the runners were Danny, Danisj, Rohanm Kashif, Sabby, Muneeb and Sohail.

"These friends had also already contributed a few weeks ago to the campaign, so this was really good of them.

"I arrived at the take away via Warwick Hospital at 2.15pm, after a starting around 10.30am so just under four hours.

"It was gruelling and tough, the weather was difficult but the motivation was great enough to keep me going.

"I felt exhilarated after I finished and I was so so proud of our friends who ran the distance out of love and support, that was awesome.

"We did raise some money off the bike ride but it would be good to get a few more donations coming in and we will be doing other fundraising things soon."
