Travellers move onto car park behind Rugby's Whitehall Rec, around seven caravans there at present

A group of travellers have moved onto the The Queen's Diamond Jubilee Centre car park behind Whitehall Rec.

Residents first noticed the group had moved onto the car park yesterday, January 31.

The Advertiser visited the site this afternoon and saw seven caravans, with a few piles of litter scattered around the area.

Cars were coming and going, but the majority of those on the site appeared to be mothers with small children, with a small group of older children playing on the skate ramps.

The gate which connects the car park with Bruce Williams Way is now propped wide open.

Rugby Borough Council has been reached for comment and is expected to reply shortly.
