The campaign was launched by Cool Breeze Technology Services and the Warwick and Leamington Covid 19 Mutual Aid Group and is an initiative that aims to provide every needy child in the area with a laptop or computer.

Warwick Lions, who serve both Warwick and Leamington, contacted Cool Breeze M.D. Gary Harvey with an offer of assistance and under the guidance of Lions Welfare Convenor Peter Amis have now set up a team of members to help collect donated tablets and laptops for refurbishment and to deliver the safely wiped and refurbished devices to local schools.

The Lions Club had at the outset of the pandemic donated a number of Chrome Book devices to Westgate Primary School in Warwick but due to the forced cancellation of their fundraising activities were unable to do more so the club jumped at the opportunity to further serve the local community.

A spokesperson for the Warwick Lions Club said: “It was terribly frustrating to hear that so many children were still without the technology they needed to keep up with their schoolwork and we wanted to do all that we could to help.

"This is a very worthy cause and if you have an old or unwanted device that could be donated please contact: [email protected]"
