Warwick venues hosting half term activities for Halloween and Bonfire Night

Two council-run venues in Warwick will be hosting half term activities for Halloween and Bonfire Night.

Warwickshire County Council’s Heritage and Culture Warwickshire team have organised a range of activities, with the week kicking off with St John’s Haunted House (October 28 to October 31).

Families can go on a trail through the house, create slime to take home, take part in Halloween-themed crafts, and join potion-making. Fancy dress is welcome.

Tickets are in timed slots and are limited so booking in advance is recommended.

Tickets cost £12 per child and £6 per adult, and each comes with a hot drink from Pickled & Tipsy Mobile Café. Those under the age of two are free. All activities take place indoors or outside undercover.

On November 1, ‘Arty Tots WHOOSH! BANG! WHIZZ!’ will take place at the Market Hall Museum from 10am to 1pm.

It will see families making Bonfire Night inspired crafts to take home. It costs £3 per child and there is no need to book. It is suitable for those under the age of five and older siblings are welcome.

Then on November 2, the Market Hall Museum is hosting CSI Warwick from 10am to 1pm.

A valuable artefact has been stolen from the museum so children can test out their forensic skills with STEM activities and put the pieces together to solve the crime.

It costs £3 per child and there is no need to book.

Cllr Heather Timms, Warwickshire County Council’s portfolio holder for environment, climate and culture, said: “After a busy summer holiday programme and lots of new families taking part in Heritage and Culture activities, the teams are looking forward to seeing them again for October half term.

"They are excited to launch the new theme of Hansel and Gretel at St John’s Haunted House as well as offer our drop in events at Market Hall.”
