Rev Diane Thompson, moderator of Churches Together Warwick said: “‘For the churches it is with a heavy heart that we have had to cancel all Easter services and shut our doors.

"Buildings may be locked though, but the life of our local churches continues. It’s inspiring to see new and surprising ways of reaching out happening that were not even dreamt of a few weeks ago.

"Many people and local organisations are co-operating to serve the needs of vulnerable and isolated adults and families: the Easter food/activity packs being delivered to families through churches, community centres and our schools being one good example.

"It seems to me that the Easter story is not just something confined to church buildings.

"Because of COVID 19 we’re all of us facing real change and loss, we’re all to care for our neighbour, and, without being in denial, we’re to hold fast to hope.

"In a nutshell: in the year 2020 we are all, step by step, being led into living out the story of Easter – one of life emerging from death and light’s inevitable triumph over darkness.”

On the Churches Together Warwick website www.ctwarwick.org.uk there are links to each of the churches websites where residents can see what their local church is doing.
