A charity is inviting Warwickshire school pupils to take part in two competitions as a way to help bring cheer to older people who may be feeling lonely and anxious.
Kissing it Better has launched art and poetry competitions, which are open to all young people in the county aged from seven to 18 years old.

Normally, this means taking young people into hospitals and care homes so they can light up the day for older people through music, performance and conversation.
To help find a way around the restrictions caused by the coronavirus lockdown the team at the charity have come up with alternative ideas such as singing outside care home and hospital ward windows and these competitions.
Jill Fraser CEO of Kissing it Better, said: “Lockdown means we have to find a new way to harness young people’s amazing talents.

The winners will have their work displayed in local hospitals and care homes to bring cheer older people.
Jill added: “Our charity’s theme is ‘creative thoughtfulness’, which means finding new ways to engage and inspire people, whatever the circumstances.
“Hopefully these competitions will engage children and young people who are feeling bored and perhaps anxious about the health of their older relatives during this difficult time.”
