Staff at H B Dunns in Oxford Street have assured they remain open for business, despite having to tackle “waterfall foods” and move sales to the back of the building throughout the morning.

Pharmacist, Nadya Jethwa said she discovered the water coming from the buildings above the premises just before 9am.

But thanks to a few buckets, umbrellas and a pair of Wellington boots - staff were able to keep the doors open for customers.

She said: “Our staff all came in just before 9am and we are pleased to say we have managed to open.

“We have had to dispense from our entrance at the back of the building but the surgery has been very supportive over the flooding and we are able to still receive electronic prescription and sell pharmacy-only medicines.

“The water stopped coming into the branch at about 9.30am and we are with contractors making sure our staff and customers are safe.”

Customers have been thanked for their patience as work begins to manage the source of the leak and keep the shop clear and safe.
