Plans for homes in Whitnash to go before committee

Plans to build almost 100 new homes in Whitnash will go before a committee at Leamington town hall tonight.

The town’s council, Bishop Tachbrook’s parish council and 64 residents have objected to the plans for a housing estate on land to the south of Fieldgate Lane on grounds they are contrary to the national planning policy framework, the impact on schools, services and amenities in the area, concerns over flooding and infrastructure and poor public transport links.

Warwick District Council’s officers have recommended that planning permission is granted.

Plans for 280 homes on farmland at Wodside Farm were recently unanimously rejected by the committee on grounds of poor infrastructure after officers had advised councillors to refuse planning permission.
